Critter Last Supper

Like the Dadists, we love finding objects and making something different with them. One of our favourite Dada pieces is Marcel Duchamp’s L.H.O.O.Q., where he took a souvenir print of Leonardo DaVinci’s Mona Lisa and drew a moustache and beard on her. He also added the title, which when spoken aloud in French sounds like “she has a hot ass”.

Through our thrift store hunts we found a rather tacky reproduction of The Last Supper (another DaVinci masterwork often subverted and messed-with) mounted on a tree slice. We also came across a stack of dead-stock decals, (you know those cute/creepy bunnies and teddy bears that were all over children’s furniture in the 70’s? Those.). Ange couldn’t help picturing Jesus and his disciplines as little fuzzy friends and giggled quietly while she completed the collage.
